Hehehe...I guess some of you might familiar with this kind of photos! Yeah, one of the blogger's cool hubby just got an award from a nature photography contest, similar object and similar situation too! But his award being rewarded with Sony 1k product voucher! Mine get nothing!!! Our photos was not taken in a professional way, you can compare below photo with ours. Definetely no fight la....
Copy fron this site!!
Hubby took the photos one evening around May 2005. The bird come and lay egg on our tree. He noticed the mummy bird brought something to the tree, thought she was building up the nest, go and have a look, only realised there was 2 little birds inside the nest, open their mouth widely, waiting for the food!
Wien want to see the little birds closely, so daddy carry her to peep them ! After that took some pictures of it. But so unlucky, the next day all the birds gone, left only the nest!! Must be the mummy bird brought them away from us, scare her little birds will be kidnapped by us!!!
p/s: the nest still on the tree, we are hoping another mummy bird will come and lay egg there!! Let's wait & see!

wah... you must have a really big tree at your house!
it's a wonder of nature, how a bird can actually build such a nice nest rite...all the leaves and sticks bundle nicely!!!
Zoom in closer lah....then use photoshop touch up kekeke.....
Ur pics are not bad oso mar but just need a little bit of skill then can compare with Mr. Loong's award pic.
Aiya, did u enter the contest or not? If not, no use whining lar. So, make sure u watch out for such contests the next time.
But how the mummy can take the birds away leh? Not possible woh.. I wonder if some night creature (cat, snake, rat) came to eat the little birds. But don't want to think so negatively la hor.
In my old house, we used to have lots of such birdies in our house.. The adult birds like to build nest on the mango tree. Then these little birds accidentally fall off from the nest, we have to help to put them back, or the mummy bird will be making lots of noise complaining but cannot help to get her chick up to the nest.
Btw, if it's swallow, can make yin-woh with the nest liao.. :P
egghead:

Let me first if got such contest again ya! But wait till we change to a better camera first!
Firstly, people used a professional camera (i assume), you used a point and shoot..
Secondly, people used natural lights or a bounce light (i assume), you used a built in flash lite..
sometimes it's not only the skill, camera also play a part..
your photos also show us the wonder of nature...prob in a not so stylish but unobtrusive kind of way...
you know- the homecooked as compared to restaurant food..at time, we still prefer the homecooked food...
I think if hubby were to take such pics, the birds sure get blind one.... hehehe. He likes to keep flashing jhis camera, but pics always tak jadi.
lets see if the swallows will come then you will be "ching chun seong jue" hahahaah
